Has Covid19 set us back?

During the Covid19 Pandemic there has been a huge increase globally in the use of single-use items, with the attitude that throwing something away that may be contaminated is better than cleaning it and potentially getting infected.
This includes single-use face masks not just in hospital but within communities, cafes no longer accepting reusable cups but instead giving out single-use cups for takeaway drinks, and of course the need for PPE and plastic gloves.
Its easy to feel like the war against plastic waste has been sidelined. How much has Covid19 set us back?
