How can one know if they are on the path to thrivability?

As famously Peter Drucker said, one cannot manage what they do not manage. When it comes to the area of thrivability and sustainability metrics, I would go one step further: Are we measuring what matters most? Sometimes in this busy world, we get lost in the details when the obvious is staring us in the face. How can we ensure we are being sustainable?
